LTE GUIDE · KIDS

What parents
should ask.

A practical checklist of questions worth asking before signing your child up for boxing or Brazilian jiu-jitsu—anywhere, including here.

Choosing a martial arts or boxing program for your child is mostly about asking the right questions. These are the ones we would ask, and how LTE answers them.

Who actually coaches the kids?

Ask for the coach by name, and how long they have coached. At LTE, Kids Boxing is coached by Victor Sanchez, who has coached boxing since 1982, and Kids BJJ is coached by Coach Matt, who coaches every Brazilian jiu-jitsu class at the club.

What ages train together?

A class that mixes very young kids with teenagers makes coaching harder. LTE’s kids classes—both boxing and BJJ—are for ages 5–13.

When are the classes, and can we actually make them?

Consistency matters more than intensity. Check the current class schedule against your family’s week before committing, and pick days you can realistically repeat.

What equipment does my child need?

Ask before you buy anything. The club will confirm current equipment requirements for each program, so you do not need to guess or invest in specialized gear in advance.

Is there contact or sparring?

Ask how the program introduces contact and what is required versus optional. At LTE, your coach explains what each class involves before your child participates.

Can we see it before we commit?

Any good program will let you look before you decide. At LTE, book a complimentary Welcome Session, bring your child, meet the coaches and see the space—no membership purchase required.
